第一财经研究院成立于2007年，是中国媒体机构中设立最早的一批研究院。早期的研究院主要向市场第一时间提供经过专业整合和分析的各类财经资讯，并定期提供涉及宏观经济、金融市场、产业领域在内的研究报告和数据服务。

2015年，第一财经研究院正式转型为第一财经旗下的非营利独立智库机构，以“致力于改善经济政策/Committed to Improving Economic Policy”为宗旨。2020年5月，第一财经研究院入选首批上海市重点智库，成为中国媒体（公司）智库中的佼佼者。

以媒体智库“四力”为基础的深入调研、权威数据分析和媒体平台传播便捷的综合优势是第一财经研究院的显著特点。第一财经研究院以独立的研究分析视角、建设性的愿景态度和扎实的一线调研，在经济金融、企业全球化、可持续发展、专精特新等领域为决策部门和企业提供专业观点，并承担了一系列政策咨询建言和政府课题研究工作。2023年，第一财经研究院发布的《跨越山海│中国企业全球化报告》引起社会广泛关注，成为热点议题。

Established in 2007, Yicai Research Institute is one of the first research institutes established by Chinese media organizations. When first established, Yicai Research Institute provided the market with professionally integrated and analyzed financial information along with data services, and published research reports on macro-economy, financial markets and industries.

In 2015, Yicai Research Institute officially transformed into an independent and non-profit think-tank for Yicai Media Group (formerly known as China Business News, CBN), with “Committed to Improving Economic Policy” as its vision. In May 2020, Yicai Research Institute was recognized by the Shanghai Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science as one of Shanghai’s prominent think-tanks, thus evolving to become one of China’s leading media think-tanks.

Built on media think-tank’s “four abilities” and accompanied by media’s comprehensive advantages, Yicai Research Institute now specializes in in-depth survey, case study and data analysis. With solid front-line researches conducted with independent points of research angles and constructive visions, Yicai Research Institute provides decision-making departments as well as enterprises with professional insights in the fields of economy and finance, enterprise’s globalization, sustainable development, specialized and sophisticated enterprises that produce new and unique products and etc. We have also conducted a series of consultations and themed researches for policy making purposes. In 2023, our first issue of the annual themed report “Journeying Across Mountains and Seas | Chinese Enterprises Globalization Report” raised much attention and was wildly discussed among the public.
